Make sure that you keep at least three layers.

Top: working layer

Middle: duplicate backup

Bottom: original backup

The logic behind this will be more apparent later on. Its very simple.

First using a skintone color, use an airbrush, mode multiply, 50% opacity, in one stroke.

If you need help with choosing skintone colors, use this chart.

Using the same brush, darken the appropriate areas of the face. You can use multiple strokes since the cover is in different areas.

Since we have kept a backup without any alterations, we can erase the eye area and also reduce the opacity of the working layer to reduce saturation.

Once we have reduced the saturation/opacity, use a lighter skintone color add highlights.
