I've always had an affinity for the arts, although I hadn't realized the importance
of it until recently. Being logic oriented and conservative, I think I put aside
my desire for a career in art for a secure job with benefits, and also because
I feared the fate of a "starving artist." On my 28th birthday, April
19, 2005, I resigned from my secure sales position at a Fortune 500 company.
I hadn't planned on leaving, but something told me that I had to begin a new
life as an artist from that day on. So died the life of a salesman and a hobby
artist, and life began anew that day for me as an artist.
I've always felt that if a person really desires something, they will find a way to achieve their goals. I want to be a master artist, achieve a modicum of fame, and subsist from creating artwork. For now, I am just beginning to believe that I can achieve 'my dreams', and I think the resignation from security was just a small baby step to a road of success.
Only time will tell if I have enough drive and motivation to escalate myself to the level of success I aspire. Come follow me on my journey.
I appreciate your support, and thank you for viewing my artwork.

About: I am digital/traditional artist working as an art director/lead artist at Active Creations. We mainly design tshirts for NASCAR events and speedways, occasionally shirts for specific drivers such as Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, etc. This site is primarily my portfolio site. In the future, I hope to use my college education in 3D design, preferably at a game design comapny as a texture artist.
3/2005 I use adobe photoshop, a wacom intuos, pencil and paper. i hope to make a living one day as an artist.
Update 6/20/2005 Got a job as a Tshirt artist. Mostly for Nascar events and racers. Would'nt necessarily call it 'a living' but at least Im doing something that will help me to create better compositions and have better design/layout skills.
7/24/2005 Its been about a month since I started oil painting and I love it. I have a new goal to become a really awesome oil painter. Probably portraitist.
There's not enough time to do all the art that I want to do.

now that i have a TON of time now, im going to try to beef up the portfolio with 3d stuff. with this art director stuff on the resume and solid photoshop and illustrator experience on top of what i already have, im at a better position to get a job at a game company.
